Inner Sunet Remodel

This lovely 1916 2-story Edwardian home in San Francisco’s Inner Sunset neighborhood desperately needed an update to the existing kitchen. JBP Architects worked with the home owners to combine the kitchen and separate pantry into a single space and add a powder room on the main level adjacent to the kitchen.

The renovation involved removing the structural wall that separated the existing kitchen and pantry to create a single open, airy and light-filled space. In addition, the existing doorway between the kitchen and formal dining room was relocated and widened to provide a central axis and facilitate connection between the two rooms. The project triggered additional structural upgrades to the lower level guest room and office as well as replacement of a number of existing single pane windows with new energy efficient windows.
